Distance education programs include baccalaureate completion programs, master's degrees, graduate certificates, and teacher licensure programs delivered either online or via select site-based locations throughout North Carolina.

Program Spotlights

Master of Science in Nursing: Concentration in Nursing Administration (Systems P


An online certificate designed for BSN and MSN nurses desiring to become educational leaders in academic and clinical settings. The certificate consists of 12-credit hours and is completed in 12 months.

RN to BSN Completion Program


An online program usually completed in 12 months. Students may start the online program in fall or spring semesters.

Academically or Intellectually Gifted


This 12-credit-hour, four-course add-on teacher licensure program is for currently licensed teachers and meets North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (DPI) requirements for AIG add-on teacher licensure.

Post-Master's Graduate Certificate in School Counseling


Beginning each summer, counselors form CACREP-accredited masters programs have the opportunity to take 12-credit hours in School Counseling. This online program is completed in 12 months.

Middle Grades & Secondary Education Licensure Online Program


Graduate Certificate in Teaching This 18-credit-hour program is designed to meet North Carolina licensure needs of lateral entry teachers as well as those seeking a career change to teaching. The Graduate Certificate in Teaching content areas are English, Math, Social Studies, and Science. For those pursuing licensure through the Master of Arts in Teaching (Math, Social Studies and Science), at least 30 credit-hours (of the required 39) are in an online format.

Graduate Certificate in Special Education (K-12): General Curriculum


This program prepares students for teacher licensure to work with mildly disabled K-12 students. The program meets North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (DPI) requirements for a specific licensure level in Special Education: General Curriculum.

Master of Arts in Teaching Special Education (K-12)

Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology: Electrical


Engineering technologists provide the interface between engineering and production operations in modern industry. They are employed in fields such as product evaluation and testing, power switchgear installation and calibration, and microcomputer data acquisition and control systems.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology: Fire Safety


Graduates of Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology programs find opportunities for advancement in their chosen field as an integral part of the management team responsible for public safety and emergency services. Traditional activities include fire prevention, firefighting, arson investigation and emergency services.

M.Ed. in Instructional Systems Technology


Nationally recognized program designed for teachers and training and development professionals pursuing instructional design credentials.
