The respiratory therapy (BSRT) program has more great news to share about our students. Ashley Barlow,  a recent UNC Charlotte BSRT graduate, presented at the 2015 North Carolina Society for Respiratory Care (NCSRC) symposium during the open forum on September 30, 2015 in Wilmington, NC.

Barlow's presentation entitled, “The Current State on Prone Position Practice in North Carolina”, focused on how prone positioning can improve oxygenation and protect lungs from over-distention.

The NCSRC's open forum gives researchers the opportunity to be published on the NCSRC website, gain state recognition of work from international recognized physicians and respiratory therapists, and compete for national awards.

Barlow's research, along with 11 other UNC Charlotte students, were selected to present at the open forum. In addition, 4 out of the 12 students were chosen to present at the national meeting in November. Congrats to all of our bright students!

The NCSRC is a non-profit organization that supports and benefits respiratory care practitioners of North Carolina.
