The office of Distance Education is pleased to celebrate the grand opening of its new testing center located in Barnard Hall. The much-anticipated testing center will provide space large enough to accommodate 23 students with individual testing carrels. The center is set to open in January 2016.
The new testing center was designed to assist with the growing number of DE students who required a proctored exam. The center will also help provide a controlled environment for Distance Education faculty who choose to have one or more exams administered in a proctored setting.
“With 13 additional seats the new testing center will be able to provide more appointment opportunities for DE students. In addition, it will be able to support additional DE faculty requests who oftentimes had to alter their preferred exam dates due to capacity constraints” said Terri Fish, Program Implementation Supervisor, Distance Education. “We are very excited about the new center and what it will offer our students.”
The new facility will feature 23 all-in-one computers with dual operating systems, new carpet, new paint and a high-raised podium for proctors. There are no fees associated with proctored exams for UNC Charlotte Distance Education students.
