Admission
The target audience for the online certificate program is counselors from a CACREP-accredited program. A counselor who graduated from a CACREP-accredited program with fewer than 60 credits may have transcripts reviewed by the Program Coordinator, who will design an individual program of study for the student.
Non-North Carolina residents who meet the admissions requirements are welcome to apply to the certificate program. Students are responsible for checking with their state education department for current certification requirements. The American School Counselor Association provides basic information on state certification requirements.
Items Needed to Apply:
- A Master’s degree in Counseling from a CACREP-accredited program. Counselors who graduated from a CACREP-accredited program with less than 60-credits will need to contact the Program Coordinator.
- A statement of purpose which explains the applicant’s career goals
- One copy of official transcripts from all institutions attended
Before applying for the program, you are encouraged to speak with the Program Coordinator, Dr. Susan Furr at (704) 687-8967 or by email at
