Why should I enroll in the Online MSEM Program?

If you want to have an advanced degree in engineering management but you need a flexible program both in time and in location, then this may be the right program for you. The MSEM online program is especially designed for students and working professionals who are not able to commute to the UNC Charlotte campus for attending on-campus courses or for those people who are having constant time conflicts to attend the regularly scheduled classes on campus. The online program is delivered mainly asynchronously which means you can review the course materials on your own pace at any time and at any place. You can interact with your instructor and your classmates and exchange ideas through our learning management system in an asynchronous manner whenever you have time.

Is there a quality difference of the Online MSEM Degree from the On-Campus MSEM Degree?

No. The MSEM online program is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Associate of Colleges and Schools and taught by the same faculty who teach in the on-campus program. This provides distance education students assurance of the same high quality academic standards as their on-campus counterparts. The MSEM faculty are required to go through online teaching training to provide you the best learning experience through out your degree.

Is it easier to enroll and graduate from an Online MSEM Degree compared to the On-Campus MSEM Degree?

No. Distance education students meet the same competitive admission requirements as on- campus students. The students complete same/equivalent courses in both programs and fulfill similar requirements to be successful in their course work.

Are there any advantages of the Online MSEM Program compared to the On-Campus MSEM Program?

Yes. The online program gives students flexibility of completing their MSEM degree without traveling to UNC Charlotte’s campus. It also helps students improve online communication skills in a virtual team environment which is essential in today’s working environment where companies are dispersed geographically throughout the globe.

Is an Online MSEM Program right for everyone?

No. This program is right for you if you are self-motivated and self-disciplined to do self-studies of the provided lectures while enjoying your time and location flexibility.

Is the Online MSEM Degree recognized in the industry as the On-Campus MSEM Degree?

Yes. The MSEM online program is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Associate of Colleges and Schools. Furthermore, the degrees for the online and the on-campus programs are the same. In other words, you receive an MSEM degree which is not differentiated as online versus on-campus.
