B.S. Respiratory Therapy

Admission

To be considered for admission to the Respiratory Therapy Program, you must meet the following minimum admission eligibility requirements:

  • 2.0 GPA or higher from associate Degree program
  • Must have successfully completed or be in the process of completing a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapist program from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Must be currently licensed, practicing respiratory therapist OR will be obtain NBRC RRT certification prior to enrolling in program

Meeting the minimum requirements of the program does not guarantee admission into the program. All application materials for fall 2010 must be received no later than March 15, 2010; however, it is recommended that you apply as soon as possible.

Admission to the Respiratory Therapy Program requires 2 applications:

  1. You must first submit an Application for Admission to UNC Charlotte. This can be done online at: http://www.uncc.edu/admissions/index.asp Admission to UNC Charlotte is independent of admission to the Respiratory Therapy Program. Please note you will need to have official transcripts sent to the UNC Charlotte Admissions Office in order to complete the institutional application process. The instructions are on the application webpage.
  2. You must then complete the online application to the Respiratory Therapy Program. One official transcript from every college or university you have attended, are currently attending or from which you will receive credit must be sent directly to the Respiratory Therapy Program at the following address:

  3. Submit photocopies of your RRT credential certificate or card, respiratory care license with expiration date, and current BLS to the above address or fax to 704-687-3350 attention Respiratory Therapy Program.

IMPORTANT: Both online applications must be submitted with transcripts in order to be considered for admission to the Respiratory Therapy program.
