Courses
The MSEM degree is multidisciplinary and combines industry-driven elements of engineering disciplines with studies of business, system operations and organizational behavior.
Admissions
Admissions & Requirements:
The Engineering Management Program evaluates each application based on the combination of the applicant’s plan for pursuing the degree, fulfillment of the prerequisites, undergraduate and/or other graduate GPA and background, GRE (or GMAT) scores, work experience, and references. Work experience is preferred but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related technical or scientific discipline, or a bachelor’s degree in business with relevant technical course prerequisites.
- Undergraduate coursework in calculus.
- Note: Undergraduate coursework in engineering economics, linear algebra, statistics, and computer programming is preferred.
- Minimum GPA 3.0.
- Statement of purpose outlining goals for pursuing graduate education.
- Written descriptions of any relevant and scientific work experience.
- Complete the online Graduate Application for Admission.
Applicants whose native language is not English will need to satisfy the UNC Charlotte Graduate School’s English proficiency requirements.
Any students who have a GPA close to the admissions threshold may benefit from submitting a GMAT or GRE score with their application; however, this is optional, and is not required for admission.
