2016 Summer Intensive Orientations
April 25, 2016The Summer Intensive Orientations courses are designed to provide admitted students with an opportunity to better prepare for courses that are required for majors in Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Computing, Health or the Physical or Social Sciences. Students participating in these week-long courses will also gain experience in the study and problem solving skills, essential for a successful College experience.

Distance Education Celebrates Grand Opening of Testing Center
December 8, 2015The office of Distance Education is pleased to celebrate the grand opening of its new testing center located in Barnard Hall. The much-anticipated testing center will provide space large enough to accommodate 23 students with individual testing carrels. The center is set to open in January 2016.
Distance Education’s IST faculty member receives national award
October 19, 2015Dr. Florence Martin, director of the Instructional Systems Technology program, will receive the 2015 Crystal Award from the Association for Educational Communication and Technology (AECT) Division of Distance Learning in Indianapolis on November 6th.
UNC Charlotte Respiratory Therapy Students Shine at NCSRC Symposium
October 5, 2015The respiratory therapy (BSRT) program has more great news to share about our students. Ashley Barlow, a recent UNC Charlotte BSRT graduate, presented at the 2015 North Carolina Society for Respiratory Care (NCSRC) symposium during the open forum on September 30, 2015 in Wilmington, NC. Barlow's presentation entitled, “The Current State on Prone Position Practice in North Carolina”, focused on how prone positioning can improve oxygenation and protect lungs from over-distention.
UNC Charlotte Paints Nursing Convention GREEN!
September 28, 2015From September 30 to October 2, 2015, hundreds of registered nurses from across the state will converge at the Embassy Suites, in Concord, NC for the 108th North Carolina Nurses Association (NCNA) Annual Convention. The UNC Charlotte School of Nursing and Office of Distance Education are platinum co-sponsors of the exhibit hall and mobile app for attendees at this year's event.

AARC selects UNC Charlotte Students to Present at Congress
September 23, 2015Each year the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) selects researchers and clinicians from around the world to showcase their findings at the international convention. Recent UNC Charlotte graduates, Sheila Ball, Holly Harron, Jamie Lemmon, and Andrew Miller, were selected to present their final projects from the Respiratory Therapy Capstone course during this year's open forum.
